RED CROSS INTERNATIONAL BAZAAR STREET SALES; Went for Street Sales today! went DUPER DUPER WELL! i sold the whole booklet!!!!! which has ten tickets & costs $100, within 40 minutes! started at around two, & finished at 2.40pm! in between i even helped yee en to sell off two tickets. so, actually, sold twelve tickets in 40 minutes :D went to tampines mall; my mama thought i couldn't even manage a bronze, four tickets. hehe, lucky she's wrong!
i sold off my first ticket within five minutes, to a female salon employee. i think thats the only female i sold tickets to for the 40 minutes. the rest were all male, so male are more generous! its a fact :D i really asked a lot of people within that 40 minutes of solding off my own tickets, following then i helped Yee en & Qianwen sell. THE MOST LUCKY THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME IN THIS STREET SALE! a business man handed me A FIFTY DOLLAR NOTE, when i approached him, he was dialling in a number on his HP, i thought for sure he wont really pay much attention with me, cos he was saying something about his goods on his HP, then he handed me a FIFTY DOLLAR NOTE from his wallet, i was like, "Fifty dollars? u buying five?" i thought i seeing things lor. then he had a hand gesture of five, i was about to say 'REALLY?' then quickly tear the tickets before he go back on his mind! after i handed him five tickets, he went into a bank or ATM ! i was lucky! he actually brought 50%.
With that, i was left with three tickets, which is rather easy to polish off with the right buyers. i rmb the last person i sold to, i went on & on about services red cross provides, & the man said "You say until like that, i must buy lor." actually, the things i say are the same. etc: Hello, we are from Singapore red cross society, would u like to buy a ticket? then i see if the person stop & listen to me, or hesitate, then i say: We are raising funds for the needy. the funds go into running services like ambulance services, blood donor drive, homes for the disabled, red cross hostel. at this point, if they still hesitating, then i say:
At the bazaar, u get to spend the coupons on the tickets, u can buy food, things, & play games, & there are performances too, u get to see about other cultures as people from all over the world will be there as this is a international bazaar that only is hold every two years.
i forgotten about this thing on the ticket that says lucky draw! like that they still don't buy i duno wad to say liao laa. every buyer i encountered, i say until here, they will fork out ten dollars & buy a ticket already. spent about 3 minutes to four minutes persuading one person.
through a lot of times i only say until " Hello, we are from Singapore Red Cross soci......" haven even finish the word Society, they walked away already. heard a lot of "ITS okay", "NO" , but rejection to a point, will get acceptance rite? so i still managed to sell off whole booklet within 40 minutes. ABOUT THREE PEOPLE, they only want to donate ten dollars but dun wan the tickets, & the tickets they want to give it to me, then i told them to give it to maybe a mother with two little kids, give it to them to let them play at the bazaar, like that they will be happy plus touched.
a good option when reports say that singaporeans are a bit wary about others, dun receive things from strangers! good practice lor. but one of them, really dunwan the ticket, so he pushed to me.
the tickets are really colourful!
